The dry drunk thing confuses me like nothing else. I have a very difficult (more like impossible) time telling the difference between my husband when he is a dry drunk versus when he might actually be drinking. It’s asshole behavior both times, withdrawn, non communicative, overly sensitive and combative. Al-Anon is supposed to provide me tools to not obsess about things like that, but I still do. When I can’t figure out if he’s lying, my program kind of falls to pieces.
